At the Cool Gourmet, we fully believe that sometimes it's good to make life a little easier. This is where we come in.

If you've had a long day at work, a last minute guest has dropped in unannounced or if you just don't fancy cooking. Whatever the reason, we have got your back. We'll do the hard bit and all you have to do is choose your meal from our counter and heat it up at home. It's as simple as that.

We offer a wide variety of meals which you can take away cold or hot* from our counter. You have a choice of portion size, either standard or large, depending on how hungry you are! We also offer half portions** for those who have smaller appetites.

All our food is cooked on the premises using fresh, local, high quality ingredients. Since our food is freshly cooked, all the meals on the counter are suitable for home freezing.

We try our best to cater for different dietary requirements and all of our counter labels contain allergen information. Should you have any queries about the any of the dishes, our staff will be happy to help.

Many of our dishes are cooked to order, so if you have a craving for something in particular, don't hesitate to ask us.

In recent years, the Cool Gourmet has opened their doors on Hogmanay to provide hot food and beverages to people attending the Stonehaven Fireballs Ceremony. This has provided a welcome opportunity for people to warm up with stovies, soup, cake, tea, coffee and hot chocolate.
Tearoom
Located in the heart of Stonehaven's historic Auld Toon, the Cool Gourmet has been newly renovated and is the perfect place to stop for a spot of lunch or a morning coffee. We offer a range of food from fresh cooked breakfasts to hearty meals like our stovies and lasagne. We also offer a selection of home bakes that you can enjoy with a hot drink. You can also treat yourself to some of our Cream o' Galloway ice cream which you can have to take away or to sit in.

The tearoom provides easy accessibility for disabled people including toilet facilities and a lowered counter area where you can pay. Families with children are welcome but please note that due to health and safety reasons, we can no longer accommodate large prams in the tearoom. However, we do have a secure and sheltered area next to the premises, in which safely you can leave your prams. Dogs are also welcome in the tearoom as long as they are well behaved and kept on a lead.

Afternoon Tea
We also offer afternoon tea for £18 which includes:

Savoury pastry
A scone served with cream and Isla's homemade jam
Meringue and cream
Selection of fine pieces
A pot of tea or filter coffee
Afternoon tea is only available after 2pm and needs to be booked at least 2 days in advance.
Baking
We offer a wide range of freshly baked goods, from old favourites such as Victoria sponge or brownies, to something slightly different like our gin and tonic gateau. Scones are our signature bake and they are freshly made each morning and if you're early enough, still warm from the oven. Scones come in three main types: fruit, cheese and plain. In addition, there is the option of a guest scone which changes each day.

All our baking is done on the premises using fresh, local ingredients. We like to try and cater for different dietary requirements offering gluten and lactose free bakes. The range of baked goods changes weekly and everything in our cabinets are available to takeaway or to sit in.

On Saturdays only, special cheese and Stornaway black pudding scones are available.
​
On Sundays only, freshly made butteries are also available to purchase.
